HLA-class I major histocompatibility (MHC) antigens are intrinsic membrane glycoproteins expressed on nucleated cells and noncovalently associated with an invariant beta2 microglobulin. They carry foreign determinants important for immune recognition by cytotoxic T cells, thus important for anti-viral and anti-tumor defence. Human HLA-class I antigens are represented by HLA-A, HLA-B and HLA-C molecules.

366956 is a valuable reagent for analyzing variations in HLA class I expression in different disease states e.g. liver disease, muscular dystrophy, inflammatory myopathy and other neuromuscular disorders. Also suitable as a positive control for HLA tissue typing and crossmatching.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Functional Application. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Flow Cytometry: 1-4ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry: frozen
Functional Application: suitable as a positive control for HLA tissue typing.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
