CD204 is expressed by tissue macrophages and functions both as an endocytic receptor for lipoproteins and as an adhesion receptor for macrophages binding to ligand rich tissues e.g. atherosclerotic lesions. Inhibits the uptake of acetylated low-density lipoproteins and also inhibits divalent cation independent adhesion.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Not suitable for Immunohistochemistry, paraffin or resin. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul.
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.

Recommended Negative Control:
I1904-84J1: IgG2b Negative Control (FITC)

Hybridoma:
Spleen cells from immunized AO rats were fused with cells of the Y3 rat myeloma cell line.

Storage and Stability:
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Applications
Product Type: Mab|Isotype: IgG2b|Clone No: 6A458 (2F8)|Host: rat|Source: mouse|Concentration: ~0.1mg/ml|Form: Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 1% BSA, 0.09% sodium azide. Labeled with Fluorescein Isothiocyanate Isomer 1 (FITC). |Purity: Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from tissue culture supernatant.|Immunogen: RAW264 cell line|Specificity: Recognizes mouse scavenger receptor class A (SRA), type I and II, also known as CD204. Recognizes an epitope within SRA that is polymorphic in the SRA from C57BL/6 mice and is therefore unsuitable for use with the C57BL/6 mouse strain. Species Crossreactivity: porcine and channel catfish||Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological.
