Additional Remarks
Treatment largely preserves the native antigenicity of the erythocytes while rendering the cells generally resistant to lysis by osmonic shock, freezing-thawing or immuno hemolysis. These cells are used directly in hemagglutination procedures, or may be coupled with various protiens for hemagglutination testing.
