Cross adsorbed Anti-Donkey secondary antibodies
Cross-adsorbed anti-donkey antibodies are a specialized class of secondary antibodies that have been purified to enhance their specificity in immunological research. These antibodies are particularly valuable when working with donkey-derived primary antibodies or when conducting experiments involving multiple antibodies from different species.
The process of cross-adsorption involves removing any antibodies within the secondary antibody serum that might bind to off-target immunoglobulin G (IgG) species, such as those found in other animals. This purification step reduces species cross-reactivity, ensuring that the cross-adsorbed anti-donkey antibodies predominantly recognize and interact with donkey IgG.
These antibodies find application in various immunological techniques, including Western blotting, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs). Their enhanced specificity becomes particularly crucial in complex experimental setups where multiple antibodies from diverse host species are used. By minimizing cross-reactivity, these antibodies contribute to more accurate and reliable results in experiments involving donkey-derived antigens.
