Vogel-Johnson Agar is a selective and differential medium for isolating and identifying Staphylococcus aureus. It contains lithium chloride, tellurite, mannitol, phenol red, and glycine. Staphylococcus aureus ferments mannitol, turning the medium yellow, and produces black colonies by reducing tellurite to tellurium. This product has been used as a molecular tool for various biochemical applications. It has also been used in a wide array of other chemical and immunological applications. Custom bulk amounts of this product are available upon request.
