Background

Biotin-tyramide is a biotinylation reagent specifically designed for tyramide signal amplification (TSA) methodologies in biological imaging and detection. TSA is an enzyme-mediated amplification procedure where horseradish peroxidase (HRP), conjugated to target-specific antibodies, catalyzes the deposition of biotin-labeled tyramide onto nearby protein residues in fixed cells or tissue sections. The reaction deposites biotin moieties precisely at detection sites. These biotin deposits can subsequently be identified via streptavidin-conjugated detection systems. The localization of deposition around HRP leads to good resolution. Suitable for either fluorescence or chromogenic detection. Common TSA applications include immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH).
