Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor, Recombinant, Human, Animal Free (M-CSF, CSF-1, MGI-IM)

Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (M-CSF) is produced by various cell types, including fibroblasts, macrophages and endothelial cells. This colonly stimulating factor is involved in both the development and function of monocytes/macropahges. Human M-CSF is a disulfide-linked homodimer composed of 18.4kD subunits of 158aa residues.

Biological Activity:
Determined by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of murine M-NFS-60 cells. The expected ED50 is <1.0ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1x10e6units/mg.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with H2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
