-20°CeIF3A is an important protein involved in protein translation:synthesis. It is a 1382aa member of the eIF-3 subunit A family with a PCI domain and a component of the eIF-3 multiprotein complex composed of at least 13 different subunits. It interacts with eIF3B and intermediate filament protein K7 (cytokeratin 7). A function of eIF3A is to bind to the 40S ribosome and promote the binding of methionyl-tRNAi and mRNA and thus stabilize the translation initiation complex. This protein synthesis factor may also act as an adapter molecule between the translation initiation apparatus and the cytoskeleton structure in the cell. eIF3A may be required for cell division and is also involved in breast, cervical, esophageal and stomach carcicomas.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 0.25-1ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
