Normal cells

Normal cells

Normal cells are the cells that make up the tissues and organs of an organism and that do not present any genetic or structural anomaly. They are specialised in carrying out different functions and structures, and work together to ensure the proper functioning and survival of the body. They are subject to a controlled cycle of growth and cell division, which prevents them from multiplying indefinitely and forming tumours.

Normal cells are generally held together by cell junctions, which allow communication between cells and the diffusion of nutrients and signals between them, and their study is essential for understanding the mechanisms of health and disease, as well as being used as controls in research experiments to compare the results obtained with abnormal or modified cells. They are considered a key element of cellular and molecular biology.
