Many cellular processes are regulated by reversible phosphorylation of proteins, and approximately 30% of proteins may become phosphorylated during their lifetime. Cellular crude extracts contain numerous endogenous enzymes, such as phosphatases and proteases, which can degrade and modify proteins present in the extract. Addition of inhibitors for these enzymes is the optimal approach for maximizing intact protein yield.
Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail 2 inhibits tyrosine protein phosphatases, acid phosphatases, and alkaline phosphatases. Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail 2 has been optimized and tested in cell extracts from multiple animal tissues. This Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail 2 contains Sodium orthovanadate, Sodium molybdate, Sodium tartrate, Imidazole, and Sodium Fluoride. It is supplied as a ready-to-use solution in ddH2O.
