Recognizes a cell surface antigen of 40-42kD which is similar to the human cell surface antigen designated as CD32. It has therefore been hypothesized that may recognize a minor isoform of the ovine homologue of human CD32 (Hopkins, J. et. al. 1996).

CD32 is one of a group of Fc receptors belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily and involved in phagocytosis of opsonized microbes. CD32, also known as the Fc gamma RII, acts as a low affinity receptor for IgG. The antigen mediates several functions including endocytosis, activation of secretion, cytotoxicity and immunomodulation.

Has been shown to recognize an antigen expressed by macrophages and monocytes but not by lymphocytes and shows strong staining of alveolar macrophages in Flow Cytometry.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry: 1:25-1:200
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.

Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
