Recombinant Human TNF-α (E. coli)

Biological Activity

Recombinant human TNF-α protein (E. coli) is a homotrimer with a subunit molecular mass of 17.3 kDa. TNF-a plays a major role in growth regulation, differentiation, inflammation, viral replication, tumorigenesis, and autoimmune diseases; and in viral, bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections.

Measured in a cytotoxicity assay using L-929 mouse fibrosarcoma cells in the presence of the metabolic inhibitor actinomycin D, the ED50 is < 30.0 pg/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 3.3 × 10⁷ units/mg.

Lyophilized after extensive dialysis against PBS.

Storage	Stored at ≤ -20°C, stable for one year after receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 2-8°C for 2-7 days and at -20°C for 3 months.
