Can I split the vial into multiple experiments?
You can, but we strongly advise avoiding refreezing. Instead, plan your workflow to thaw once and allocate cells immediately into parallel conditions (or expand via differentiation where appropriate). The product notes explicitly caution against repeated freezing and thawing.
What receiving steps should my lab follow to avoid preventable viability loss?
Have liquid nitrogen storage ready. Upon receipt, move vials directly from dry ice to liquid nitrogen (-150°C to -190°C) unless you are thawing right away. This is stated as a handling requirement, and it's one of the most common points where labs inadvertently lose performance.

We purchased these rat bone marrow monocytes to support a time-sensitive study and were impressed by the consistency. The cells thawed cleanly and reached a stable baseline after recovery, which is essential for avoiding stress-driven artifacts.
