| Additional Information | Description: CD11b (integrin alphaM subunit) combines with CD18 (integrin beta2 subunit) to form the integrin Mac-1, also known as complement receptor 3 (CR3), which mediates adhesion to C3bi and ICAM-1 (CD54). Mac-1 is expressed at varying levels on granulocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, NK cells, and B-1 cells in the peritoneal and pleural cavities. In addition to its role in binding C3bi on opsonized targets and mediation of the subsequent ingestion process, Mac-1 is important as an adhesion molecule in the transendothelial migration of monocytes and neutrophils. |
| Reconstitution and Storage | Store at 2-8C |

| Characterization | To insure acceptable performance, each batch of product is tested by flow cytometry to conform tocharacteristics of a standard reference reagent. Representative flow data are included in this product insert. |
| Warning | Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, orclothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts ofwater. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid underacidic conditions. Dilute azide- containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation ofpotentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing. |
