The connexin gene family codes for the protein subunits of gap junction channels, which mediate the direct diffusion of ions and metabolites between the cytoplasm of adjacent cells. The gap junction channels have unique properties depending on the type of connexins constituting the channel.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry: 1-5ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:20-1:200 Requires HIER using sodium citrate buffer pH6.0 prior to staining.
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1-5ug/ml
Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:100-1:500
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
