This polymerase exhibits 5'→3' polymerase activity along with weak 5'→3' exonuclease activity and lacks proofreading (3'→5' exonuclease) functionality, leaving adenine overhangs at amplified fragment 3' ends, facilitating subsequent TA cloning assays. The added dye permits direct loading of PCR products onto agarose gels without additional loading buffers. This reagent is suitable for routine molecular biology applications including genotyping, cloning, and DNA sequence analysis, assisting researchers to reduce experimental variability by minimizing handling steps.
